Our work in dealing with banks and other lenders is an extension of our corporate and commercial activities. The approach is the same: to provide our clients with practical and commercial advice that assists in getting the deal concluded and to avoid the all too common situation where funders can be blamed for delays to target completion dates. We also regard it as an essential part of the job we do for clients in this area to provide technical updates and training on key legal issues that recur in funding transactions. We understand that cost is also a key issue, and we have demonstrated that the necessary level of expert advice can be obtained at fee levels that are proportionate to the transaction and are not going to cause friction when a funder passes them on to its customer - we therefore avoid the practice of quoting a fee and then seeking a late increase at the last minute.
