Christopher Burns
Partner
Chris obtained his LLB (Hons) degree in Birmingham. He joined Lee &
Priestley in 1998, having trained and qualified in Bradford. In 2001 he was
appointed partner and in September 2005 was elevated to equity partnership.
Chris specialises in all aspects of Family Law but with a particular emphasis on high net worth ancillary relief and has been involved in a number of cases with multi million pound assets. He frequently represents professional clients and cases involving owner managed businesses. Chris also specialises in private and public law children cases.
He has been a member of the Law Society’s specialist Children Panel since 1999. He regularly receives referrals from CAFCASS, the judiciary and other childcare solicitors to deal with the more complicated childcare cases and has been involved in cases which have been reported in the law reports and which have attracted national media coverage.
He also deals with adoptions and the drafting of cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements. Chris particularly enjoys advocacy in Court and often appears in the Family Proceedings Court and County Court and, on occasion, before the High Court.
