Tim Stone

Managing Partner

Tim trained at Frere Cholmeley Bischoff in London, qualifying in 1992. He joined Eversheds in Leeds in 1996, leaving there to become a partner in Hill Dickinson in 2004. He joined Lee & Priestley in September 2006 and became Managing Partner in September 2009.

Tim is listed as an expert in Commercial Litigation in Legal 500. He has dealt with substantial complex litigation matters and has a wide range of experience including dealing with contractual disputes, negligence claims, corporate litigation and shareholder disputes.

Tim has particular expertise in relation to Pensions Litigation and acts for companies, trustees and members. He has experience of acting in proceedings before the Pensions Ombudsman, and the Pensions Regulator as well as the courts. Recent reported cases include: Gardener v Parker (2004, Court of Appeal), a case involving directors duties and the no reflective lose principle. Trustee Solutions Limited –v- Dubery (2006, Chancery Division), a case involving a failure to amend a pensions scheme as well as the statutory priorities on winding up.

Tim is married with 3 daughters. As a result he has a lot less spare time than he would like.
