James originally trained with Read Hind Stewart, qualifying in 1990. On qualification, he remained with the firm, eventually becoming a partner in the successor firm of Reads.

He joined Lee & Priestley in 1998 and is a partner in the firm’s Property Department. He has extensive experience of advising in a wide variety of commercial property transactions.

James acts for clients with differing property portfolios and requirements including retailers, office based businesses, industrial occupiers and investors. He likes to bring a practical approach to matters focussing initially on the client’s business requirements before tailoring a property transaction to suit those requirements.

His work includes acting for businesses relocating;acting for retailers and other businesses with large property portfolios; leasehold advice for both landlords and tenants.
