What can you expect as a trainee at L&P?
The firm is very well organised and you are looked after as a trainee. The IT and Accounts departments are particularly helpful and you know you can pick up the phone if there is a problem and assistance will be there.

I started my training contract in Family. This seat was particularly good as a first seat as it gave me a wide range of skills that I was able to carry through to my next seat. In Family you have the opportunity to see clients and go to Court. My second seat was in Commercial Property which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was able to manage my own files and caseload. You also have the opportunity to help the other fee-earners on more complex matters which enables you to get more of an idea of what is involved once you qualify into this area. I am presently in my third seat with the Insolvency department.
When you need any help there are some great minds here that you can ask advice and draw experience from. Everyone is busy but everyone is approachable. If you do need to ask for advice on anything you know that you can; time is always made for you without making you feel as though you are wasting it.
