Matthew Hutchinson is a first year trainee
Why did you choose L&P?
I wanted to join a medium sized firm where I would get a good range of practical experience from early on in my training contract.
|
Lee & Priestley offers the advantages of a medium sized firm, such as a friendly atmosphere and client contact from early in your training contract without compromising on the quality of the work with which you are involved. I also wanted to join a firm which had both private client and corporate departments of high quality so that I could gain a wide range of experience before qualifying.
What have you done during your training contract?
I started work at Lee & Priestley as a Paralegal in the Family department during which time I gained valuable experience. I regularly attended court and have made my first application to the court. I also met clients on a regular basis both supervised by the department's partners and occasionally on my own. I had my own files which I ran under close supervision; it is very rewarding remaining involved with a file right through from start to finish. I have just started my training contract with my first seat in Employment. I’m looking forward to the challenges that will bring.
